Consult commercial, financial, and sectorial risk assessments in more than 160 countries

1. What is Coface?

Coface is an international credit insurer that offers country and sector risk analysis through its web platform. It is widely used by exporting companies and financial institutions to:

  • Evaluate the solvency of countries and sectors
  • Analyze the economic and political environment
  • Reduce the risk of non-payment in international operations
Note: Ratings range from A1 (very low risk) to E (extreme risk).

2. How to access it?

  1. Visit: coface.es
  2. In the top menu, select “Country and Sector Risk”
  3. Click on “Country Assessments” or “Sector Assessments”

It is not necessary to register to see the general summary.

3. Country risk assessment

  • Consult the country's overall rating
  • Read the recent economic analysis
  • Download PDF sheets with key data

Each sheet includes macroeconomic indicators, forecasts, and political-commercial analysis.

4. Sector assessment

Coface analyzes 13 key sectors in various regions of the world, such as:

  • Agro-food, automotive, energy, construction, retail, ICT...
  • Risk levels are indicated: low, medium, high, or very high

This analysis helps determine if a sector is stable for investing or exporting to.

  • Hover over the map to see risk ratings
  • Click on a country to see the detailed report

6. Practical example

Example: Evaluating the country risk of Turkey

  1. Enter “Country Assessments”
  2. Select Turkey on the map or list
  3. Consult the rating (e.g. B or C)
  4. Read the detailed analysis on inflation, exchange rates, and political stability
  5. Download the PDF report

This will allow you to decide whether to export, invest, or apply for credit coverage.
