1. What is Global Trade Helpdesk?

It is a free platform developed by ITC, UNCTAD and WTO that centralizes international trade information to support small and medium-sized enterprises in exporting.

  • Identify export opportunities by country and product
  • Check technical, health and tariff requirements
  • Access trade statistics
  • Find institutions that can support your business
Note: It integrates data from over 11 international organizations such as the World Bank, ITC, WTO, OECD and more.

2. Access the platform

  1. Visit: globaltradehelpdesk.org/en
  2. On the homepage, enter the product, exporting country and destination country
  3. Click “Search” to generate the full trade report

3. Information provided

  • Market opportunities: Demand level, top importing countries and competitors
  • Market access: Tariffs, taxes and sanitary regulations
  • Trade statistics: Export and import figures over recent years
  • Key contacts: Authorities, chambers and institutional points of contact

4. Practical example

Example: Exporting coffee from Colombia to Germany

  1. Type "coffee" or "0901" in the product field
  2. Select "Colombia" as the exporting country and "Germany" as the destination country
  3. Click "Search"
  4. Explore sections like opportunities, requirements and contacts

You will see that Germany is one of the top coffee importers and what certifications are required.
